Vivica Fox has a bunch of irons in the fire for 2010, including the development of two movies and a planned reality series that will follow her as she moves from Los Angeles to Miami to become a reporter.

“I’ve actually been thinking about it for the last year or two. Every time I go to Miami I love it, I’m there a lot,” says the actress, who was born in South Bend, Indiana. “I’m from the midwest so I’ll be closer to my family.”

Fox wants to be “either a sportscaster, a hard news reporter or an entertainment reporter,” she tells EUR’s Lee Bailey.

“First of all, I’m a sports junkie. I’m a former athlete,” she explains. “I played basketball, volleyball track and I was a cheerleader. And I’m a huge fan of ESPN.”

“I also love Headline News and CNN. That’s a new chapter to go into,” she says. “You don’t have to be on sets all day long; like the [50 Cent] video [“Do You Think About Me”] where I was on set for 23 hours. I’ve done that for a long time. It’d be nice to have a job where I could show up for 4 or 5 or 6 hours and not have to work so hard. but still be in the business that I love doing.”

Fox says her move from Hollywood to launch this new endeavor doesn’t necessarily mean she’s giving up acting altogether.

“Actually that might be one of the trials of the show, if acting calls me back,” she says. “But I’d like to move to the east coast. It seems like there’s more opportunities and new characters. I think Hollywood is a town where once you do it, it’s cool. I’ve done well by being Vivica Fox. I just want to give myself a new challenge.”

In the meantime, look out for Vivica as the mom of Keke Palmer’s character in Nickelodeon’s “True Jackson VP.”
