Heads up!

The average tax refund from the Internal Revenue Service is down more than eight percent for the first week of the 2019 filing season.  That dip could reflect the first full year under the 2017 tax overhaul and arrives after the long government shutdown.  The IRS also says it’s processed about 25 percent fewer returns so far.  This tax season is being closely watched due to the GOP-drafted Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, which some Democrats say will cause more people to owe the IRS this year.
