Well it’s no big surprise that President Trump is not hopeful about the chances Congress can make a deal on border wall funding in the next few weeks. In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Trump put the odds at “less than 50-50” of a deal before the government runs out of funding in mid-February. If no deal is reached, Trump said another shutdown is “certainly an option.” However, he also signaled that he’d use emergency powers to build a wall. The President ended a 35 day partial government shutdown last week by signing a short-term spending measure.
