The Miss America pageant is getting a major makeover.  The annual Atlantic City beauty competition is scrapping its swimsuit and evening gown competitions.  Instead, the emphasis will be on brains over beauty with contestants urged to wear whatever makes them feel confident.  Gretchen Carlson, who chairs the organization’s Board of Trustees, made the announcement on ABC’s “Good Morning America” Tuesday, saying that Miss America is no longer a pageant, but a “competition.”  Carlson, a former FOX TV anchor who sued Roger Ailes for sexual harassment, says contestants will be asked to showcase their intelligence, passion and understanding of what the job of Miss America requires.

What do you think about the changes? Will it make the pageant better or will it take a ratings nosedive?
