Local and National elected officials have begun responding to the unfortunate school shooting that took place Friday morning at Noblesville West Middle School.

According to reports, a teacher and student were shot and Kevin Jowitt, Noblesville Chief of Police has confirmed that the shooter was male student, who is currently custody.

“There a male student at Noblesville West Middle School who has been detained,” said Kevin Jowitt, Noblesville Chief of Police. “We believe he is the involved suspect. We have no reason to believe that there is any kind of a threat connected to this anywhere else.” 

Vice President Mike Pence, who visited the city of Indianapolis, earlier this month also shared statement on Twitter about the shooting.

Plus, shortly after the news broke, responses began to floor in via Twitter from around the state, including Governor Eric Holcomb, Mayor Joe Hogsett and Senator Joe Donnelly:

While representative, Susan Brooks, who represents Noblesville tweeted that she is returning to Indiana immediately in wake of the shooting.
