Bill Cosby is kicked out of the Television Academy’s Hall of Fame. The comedian’s name and statue have been removed from the hall, which honors people who have made exceptional contributions to TV. Cosby, along with director Roman Polanski, are out of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. The organization is citing its conduct standards, saying, “The Board continues to encourage ethical standards that require members to uphold the Academy’s values of respect for human dignity.” The move comes a week after Cosby was convicted of sex crimes brought against him by Andrea Constand. Polanski has stayed away from the U.S. for 40 years, since fleeing the country while awaiting sentencing for statutory rape in 1978. The 80-year-old comedian has also been stripped of honorary degrees from multiple universities following his conviction, including Yale, Notre Dame, Ohio State and John Hopkins. Cosby was hit with more than 50 accusations of sexual misconduct. He is currently out of jail awaiting sentencing.
