Gas prices are continuing their upward trend. The average price per gallon of regular jumped nine-cents to two-dollars-85-cents, the highest level since June 2015. According to industry analysts, the rising cost of crude oil is the reason for the higher gas prices. The current gas price is 37-cents higher than it was a year ago. However, the price spike may be coming to an end. The higher oil prices are already mostly built into the pump price and the shift to higher-cost summer grade gasoline is almost complete. It’s not likely that the average regular grade price will reach the three-dollar mark.
