The kids are out for fall break and you still have to get the house ready for family coming over for Thanksgiving.  Why not let the kids get out of the house and into some fun activities to get their break started out right.  Make sure they bundle up today, as the temps have dropped by more than 30 degrees since yesterday, but the cold doesn’t stop the fund.  Check out some of the events listed below:

  • The Festival of Trees is open now until January at the Indiana History Center. See more than 70 beautifully themed trees for the holidays plus a 30-foot show-stopper in Eli Lilly Hall.  For ticket information go to indianahistory.org
  • If you are interested in saving a life and enhancing your own, Animal Care Services is dropping adoption fees in exchange for donated items.  If adoptions do not increase, they will have to seek other measures which no  one wants. So they have decided to waive all adoption fees for donations of $15 from the shelter’s Amazon wish list.
  • Carmels Christkindlemarkt is scheduled to open today at 1pm.  They held off the lighting of the tree ceremony that was scheduled for yesterday to today due to the rain.  The holiday-themed market features about 40 huts with German-inspired gifts, food and drinks for sale, plus the big ice skating rink outdoors.  To get more information go to christkindlemarkt.com
  • The last day for Jurassic Quest Return of the Dinosaurs is today at the State Fairgrounds.  Experience live, breathing, even walking dinosaurs, face painting, dino rides and so much more and kids under 3 are FREE.  More details available at jurassicquest.com
  • The hit stage play Momma’s Boy with Johnny Gill, Robin Givens, Shirley Murdoch and more is today at Old National Centre for two shows.  Tickets are still available and may be purchased at oldnationalcentre.com
