Two-thousand and sixteen was reportedly the second year in a row that saw a rise in hate crimes in the U.S.  A report from the FBI found that the amount of hate crimes in the country jumped five percent from the previous year, rising above six-thousand.  The FBI did not say why the crimes may be on a continuous, but said they range from violence and murder to property vandalism.  U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions said “no person should have to fear being violently attacked because of who they are, what they believe or how they worship.”  Sessions is currently awaiting a task force to determine how the increase should be addressed.
