Accentuate the Positive is all about highlighting someone who is doing great things in a school to lead and inspire in our community.
That special someone, could be a teacher, student or volunteer and for the month of July, our Accentuate the Positive winner, is Terri Roberts ‐ Leonard.
Terri works as the Director of Diversity & Inclusion at Franklin College just south of Indianapolis. In the day and age that we live in this is incredibly hard and thankless work but she stands up for the rights of those from marginalized communities and backgrounds (people of color, the poor, LGBTQ, disabled, religious minorities and so forth).
Plus, she works tirelessly to educate students, faculty, staff and community members on issues of diversity, inclusion and social justice, as she is the go to person on campus for students who often times feel disenfranchised, unheard and frustrated.
