Our prayers go out to the family of a Texas Tech University Police Officer that was killed last night. But something just doesn’t make sense to me. Good morning I’m Tony Lamont with your headlines. 19 year old Hollis Davis has been accused of killing a Texas Tech University Police Officer.
Here’s what doesn’t make sense to me. The police went to the room of Davis for a welfare check, and while there found evidence of drugs and drug paraphernalia. Officers then brought the suspect to the police station for a standard debriefing. “During this time, the suspect pulled a gun and mortally shot an officer,” Texas Tech Police Chief Kyle Bonath said. “The suspect fled on foot and was later apprehended by … (campus police) near the Lubbock Municipal Coliseum. How do your bring a gun into the police station. ” I sure hope that race didn’t have anything to do with the officer possible letting his guard down.
