Accentuate the Positive is all about highlighting someone who is doing great things in a school to lead and inspire in our community.

That special someone, could be a teacher, student or volunteer and for the month of June, our Accentuate the Positive winner, is Gloria Marie Turner.

As you know many people put off their education goals because they don’t think they have enough time. However, Gloria, who is mother of two (an 8-yearold and 18-month-old) has mastered the skill of full-time work and school, which is not an easy.

She sat down with WTLC’s own Tony Lamont, to discuss her journey as a non-traditional college student who graduated from high school at 26 and later obtained her degree with Ivy Tech Community College. Plus, she also discussed her family as well as her plans to continue her education in social work.
