 Hello Indy, it’s feeling a little like fall at the end of summer, but don’t let that keep you in the house this weekend.  You have 3 days to experience new things and people if you get out the house.  Check out some of the events listed below to help you enjoy your time off of work.

  • Be a part of the HydroFest in Vanderburgh County.  Not the hydro, you’re thinking, but hydro meaning power, Evansville HydroFest is a 3 day powerboat racing event going on now until Sept. 3rd.  Roar On the River kicks off at 8am and events last until 5pm, with kids 13 and under FREE.  For ticket information go to evansvillehydrofest.com/
  • The Apple Store is open at Conner Prairie. Take your choice between hand-dipped caramel apples, frozen apple cider slushies, apple pies, gifts, doughnuts, fresh popcorn, and more. Sept. 1 to Oct. 31: Tue-Sun 11-5 (until 9 PM on Symphony and Headless Horseman nights).  For more events going on at Conner Prairie go to connerprairie.org/
  • There’s a lot more to Indy than what you think.  Did you know about the mysterious underground world here?  If not, you can get out and find out what lies beneath the city, take a tour of the Catacombs at the Indianapolis City Market this weekend. Tours run at certain times, so go to bit.ly/2q7jPKP to find the best time for you.
  • The kids need a fun place to end their summer with a bang.  Georgia Street will be alive today with Indy LaborFest 2017 kicking off at 11am.  It’s a street festival featuring live music, good food, beverages, and a kids zone. 11 AM to 6 PM.   • The temperatures may have dropped, but things haven’t stopped at Easley Winery because their still Groovin in the Garden today at 2pm.  Pack a picnic, bring the blanket & chairs and enjoy the sounds of live music.  More information available at easleywinery.com/
  • It’s the last weekend to take part in DeVour Indy. Enjoy a 3-course valued-priced meal at any of 200 Indy restaurants, Aug. 21 to Sept. 3. Ask your server for the DevourIndy menu. Reservations may be required at some restaurants.  For a list of restaurants go to devourindy.com/
  • Your Indiana Fever WNBA Basketball team is playing at Bankers Life Fieldhouse with tip off at 7pm against the San Antonio Stars.  There are tickets still available and you can find out more about the Fever’s schedule at wnba.com/fever
  • Take the kids out to a FREE movie with the Noblesville Parks Movie Series at Forest Park.  Watch the movie The BFG and bring your own blankets, chairs and snacks as the movie starts at 7pm. Details available at noblesvilleparks.org/
  • Purdue Univ battles it out with Univ of Louisville tonight at 7:30pm out at Lucas Oil Stadium.  Tickets are still available and can be purchased at ticketmaster outlets.  Get more details at purduesports.com/
