Back in 1992, Friday night’s on HBO changed when Russell Simmons Def Comedy Jam premiered. It kicked-started the careers of Tracy Morgan, Dave Chapelle, Martin Lawrence and the list goes on.
According to Netflix, the 25th anniversary special will celebrate the “impact and legacy of the long-running comedy series with surprise guests, tributes, and performances in a can’t-miss evening of unbelievably funny and raw moments.” Here’s your line-up on who’s going to be participating:

Def Comedy Jam originally ran from 1992-1997, and 2006-2008. While Netflix will be celebrating it’s past, HBO still remains the franchise’s future. The cable network last month announced it was moving forward with Simmons’ All Def Comedy, a six-episode reboot featuring up-and-coming comedy talent.
