In case you’re looking for something to do outside the house since it is still summer, check out some of the events going on below from the Indiana State Fair to the BrewBQ in Noblesville for what’s up in and around your city.

  • We are going to start with the 160th running of the Indiana State Fair.  There are events held daily, but this is the last weekend of the fair, so if you haven’t experienced the Subaru Skyride, the daily parade, midway and so much more…get on out there.  Plus today is Cancer Survivors Day.  Get information about tickets and wristbands at indianastatefair.com/
  • Be a part of non-stop gaming action today with one of the longest running conventions in the world, Gen Con Gaming Convention. Activities vary daily, but they’re here at the Indiana Convention Center until Aug. 20th.  More information is available at gencon.com/
  • The Indy Hoop Festival is back at Pan Am Plaza and started at 8am.  This is a 2 day celebration of Indiana culture basically…basketball.  Be a part of the history with 3 on 3 basketball tournaments and so much more.  Go to indyhoopfest.net/ for more details.
  • Seven central Indiana shelters and Humane Societies are taking part in the national Clear the Shelters day. You can give them a home during this free or low-cost adoption event. Many places housing stray and unwanted animals are overcrowded and need to find forever homes for the pets. Clear the Shelters is a nationwide pet adoption drive.   • Then get ready for WAMMfest at Craig Park in Greenwood.  This is a one day festival with wine, art, music and so much more going on from 11am to 8pm.  For more information go to wammfest.com/
  • Continue the party with Easley Winery’s Groovin in the Garden.  Bring the picnic chairs and baskets and set back enjoy great music each weekend.  To find out whose performing today, go to easleywinery.com/
  • The 2nd Annual Noblesville BrewBQ is today in downtown Noblesville.  This is a fundraising event for students at Noblesville Ivy Tech Campus.  Be a part of the BBQ competition, music and more starting at 4pm today.  For ticket information go to noblesvillebrewbq.com/
  • Later at 5:30 PM the St. Thomas Aquinas Parish Sausage Fest will be here in Indianapolis. It’s a two-day festival with sausage, food vendors, inflatables, games, cake walk, face painting, teen area, live music, Sun King beer, wine garden.  Go to archindy.org/criterion/local/festivals.html for more details.
  • Then the Black Lives Matter (Too) is being held at 10:30p tonight at Firefighters Union Hall. One performance among hundreds of shows on 8 stages at 5 venues, part of the 13th Annual Indianapolis Theatre Fringe Festival, running now until Aug. 27th. Details available at indyfringe.org/
