McDonalds Q2 Profit Drops 4.5 Percent On Stronger Dollar, Tougher Competition

At the end of 2017, McDonald’s will be replacing cashiers with Kiosks in 2,500 stores. The shift will include digital ordering kiosks with subsequent table delivery. McDonald’s plans to use the mobile app so customers can place orders in 14,000 stores across the cross by the end of 2017.

The Big Mac Burger Machine PR stunt earlier this year did wonders for McDonald’s buzz factor, and other food brands — like the Sprinkles Cupcake ATM in Dallas — have seen an earned media boost just from automating their processes.
