The City of Miami will honor the movie “Moonlight” by naming it “Moonlight Way” in Liberty City, Florida. The movie “Moonlight” won the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay in February 2017. Pictured above Tarell Alvin McCraney from Liberty City, Fl and co-writer/director Barry Jenkins from Miami took this Independent film to greatness.
McCraney marveled at how far he and Jenkins had come during his acceptance speech in February 2017. He said, “…we can really be here and be somebody. Two boys from Liberty City up here on this stage representing 305.”
