“I’ve seen no evidence to support” the Tweets of President Donald Trump claiming that President Obama ordered wiretapping at Trump Tower last fall. That’s the latest from FBI Director James Comey during this morning’s hearing on Capitol Hill looking into Russian meddling into the U.S. election. More below in the national headlines.

Good Day to you on this stormy first day of spring.

Here at home…

Police in Boone County are investigating after two people were found seriously injured inside a barn. Seventy-six-year-old Helen Fix and her caretaker were discovered Friday night by an evening caretaker who’d arrived for a shift change. Police aren’t telling the details about the pair’s injuries, but say they’re following up on several leads. One of the women has since been released from the hospital.

Indianapolis Metro Police say there are open investigations into a weekend incident that left an IMPD officer drunk and bloodied. WTHR-TV reported that police have opened a criminal case and an internal review. Metro Police say Marion County deputies responded to a call of a drunken, off-duty officer late Friday night in the St. Patty’s night fun on South Meridian Street. The still unidentified officer is on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation. That officer isn’t the only one in trouble for actions while under the influence of alcohol Lieutenant Steve King appears in court on this busy Monday for his DUI incident that happened last Wednesday night. Police say King was arrested after being found behind the wheel of his running vehicle passed out. He’s also been suspended with pay.

Investigators are looking for whoever shot two people on this city’s northwest side. It happened Sunday morning in the 9000 block of East 43rd Street. Police say both victims were taken to a local hospital in stable condition.

Indiana’s Democratic Senator isn’t backing down from the boos at his weekend town hall meeting. Back in Indiana, Senator Joe Donnelly met with voters on Ball State University’s campus in Muncie on Sunday. It’s there that he faced boos when he talked about President Donald Trump’s pick for the Supreme Court. But Democrats in the crowd cheered Donnelly when he talked about his reluctance about the Republican plan to move past ‘Obamacare.’

The House Intelligence Committee is holding a hearing today on Russian meddling in the presidential election. FBI Director James Comey is in the hot seat, scheduled to testify, along with NSA chief Mike Rogers. The action is going on at this press time on Capitol Hill. So far Monday morning Comey testified he’s seen no evidence of wiretapping at Trump Tower.  He was asked about President Trump’s tweets that President Obama ordered wiretapping at the Tower last fall during today’s hearing into Russian meddling in the U.S. presidential election.  Comey said he’s seen no evidence to support those tweets. Meanwhile back to Russia…Chairman Devin Nunes, a California Republican, said Russia has a long history of meddling in other countries’ elections. California Democrat Adam Schiff said Russia’s intrusion into American democracy was “audacious.” FBI Director James Comey told the panel there is an active investigation into the matter. NSA Director Mike Rogers said the intelligence assessment has not changed.

Neil deGrasse Tyson doesn’t think we can ‘make America great again’ until we “make America smart again.” The famed astrophysicist took to Twitter on Sunday to voice his opinion about taking funding away from things like education, scientific research and the arts. His Twitter rant never specifically mentioned President Donald Trump’s budget proposal, but it does seem to be a response it. His posts were re-tweeted tens-of-thousands of times. Villanova v Butler

It was a busy and victorious weekend for Butler and Purdue as both teams advanced in the NCAA Men’s Tourney to the Sweet 16. The fourth-seeded Boilermakers will play top-seeded Kansas Jayhawks on Thursday at 9:39 p.m. The Bulldogs move on to face the North Carolina Tar-Heels on Friday at 7:09 p.m. Both times are Eastern. Check your local listings for where you can watch.

Congratulations to the championship-bound Crispus Attucks Tigers! The famed Indianapolis Public Schools high school’s basketball team is set to play in this year’s IHSAA Boys State Basketball Championship—something they’ve not done since 1959, back when it was a segregated all-black academic and athletic powerhouse. The now-medical magnet high school’s team already captured their first regional title in 47 years back on March 11 and on Saturday beat Evansville’s Bosse Bulldogs. Mark your calendars. The  Championship Game is Saturday March 25 at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.

The Pacers will try to get in a “W” tonight at home after a weekend where they were bitten on the road as the Raptors took the lead with 6:50 left in the first quarter and never looked back. The Raptors cruised to a 116-91 victory over the Pacers with ease in Toronto. Paul George captured 18 points in the loss. The Pacers are on an alternating streak over the last 12 games trading wins for losses and doing so has the team sitting at 35-and-34 on the season. They’ll host the Jazz on their home floor, Bankers Life Fieldhouse with a 7 p.m. tip.

Tom Brady may soon be reunited with his missing Super Bowl jersey. The New England Patriots quarterback’s jersey was apparently stolen following the team’s win over the Atlanta Falcons in Super Bowl 51 in Houston in early February. Jay Glazer with Fox Sports is reporting that the FBI and NFL Security believe they know where the missing jersey is, and it will be returned. It’s now unclear as to whether anyone has been arrested in connection to this disappearance. Houston Police say they were considering charging the alleged thief (some reports indicate that person is a credentialled member of the international media) with a felony because of the jersey’s value. Speaking of value, some experts believe Brady’s Super Bowl 51 jersey could go for as much as $500,000 at auction.
