Meryl Streep turned heads at the Golden Globes and I’m here for it!
Viola Davis, who could barely hold back her tears as she detailed her love for Streep, presented the Devil Wears Prada star with the Cecil B. Demille Lifetime Achievement Award. Streep decided to use her special moment to address our new President-Elect (without ever saying his name) and urged her Hollywood counterparts to do something positive with their platform that reaches millions. She pointed out that many of the artists in the room such as Ryan Gosling and Davis, aren’t from Hollywood and some of the actors and actresses aren’t from the United States at all.
“Where are their birth certificates?” she asked; referencing Donald Trump’s history with urging President Barack Obama to show his birth certificate. Streep went on to speak on some of the gut-wrenching actions the future President made during his campaign and while it clearly made some of her peers uncomfortable, she wasn’t afraid to hold back during her six minute speech.
“I was never mocking anyone,” he said during a phone interview. “I was calling into question a reporter who had gotten nervous because he had changed his story.People keep saying I intended to mock the reporter’s disability, as if Meryl Streep and others could read my mind, and I did no such thing. And remember, Meryl Streep introduced Hillary Clinton at her convention, and a lot of these people supported Hillary.”

UPDATE: He also tweeted and about Streep just a few moments ago.
