Serena Williams has matched Steffi Graf’s Open era record with a

22nd Grand Slam title by defeating Angelique Kerber 7-5, 6-3, in

the Wimbledon final. Roughly three hours after her singles final victory,

Serena teamed with older sister Venus to take the court and win the women’s double final. It’s the sixth doubles championship at the All England Club for the Williams’ sisters and 14th at all Grand Slam tournaments.

Also 31-year-old defending champion Lewis Hamilton reeled off his fourth win in five races Sunday to storm to victory in the Formula One British Grand Prix. This is the celebrated black English driver’s 47th F1 career victory and his fourth win on his home soil. Hamilton drives on Team Mercedes team with Nico Rosberg who came in 6.9 seconds behind Hamilton in second place but due to a penalty earned in the race was docked 10 seconds and demoted to a third place finish. So the final for the books in Sunday’s British Grand Prix is Hamilton, a Dutch teenager driving for Team Red Bull, Max Verstappen at second and Hamilton’s teammate Rosberg in third.

In NBA news…It appears the Pacers have found a backup point guard for Jeff Teague. The Vertical reports Indiana has agreed to a one-year deal with Aaron Brooks. The 31-year old has spent his past two seasons with the Bulls in ‘the Chi’. Brooks has averaged 10.7 points and 3.2 assists per game in eight NBA seasons.
