Many top Republicans in Indiana are now walking away from Donald Trump’s comments about a judge who’s a native Hoosier, an Indiana University alum and a ‘Nupe.’ Trump questioned the ability of Judge Gonzalo Curiel in the Trump University lawsuit because Curiel’s parents were born in Mexico. Hoosier Dems called out the state’s GOP recently on this and now Governor Mike Pence says, “I don’t think it’s ever appropriate to question the partiality of the judge based on their ethnic background.” ‘Nupe’–Yes, federal Judge Curiel is connected to the black community. He’s a member black Greek fraternity, Kappa Alpha Psi, Inc. Trump has come under fire for saying Judge Curiel is biased against him because of his Mexican heritage.
