Every now and then we come across a personality on social media who swings toward the extreme left or the extreme right. Friday afternoon, we saw something hilarious from the extreme right.
In an attempt to promote her new online class called, “Wife School,” author Ro Élori Cutno rubbed #BlackTwitter the wrong way with her bold ad— and all around dating philosophy.
Three black men are pictured at the top of the ad, that reads, “By age 35, nearly all men are husband material, but modern women have lost most wifely qualities.” Adding, “Men will never settle and marry these women, especially not when a woman offers pre-marital sex! Wife School April 16.”
As background, Cutno is an author and self-proclaimed “expert & global researcher of masculine culture, language & harmony.” She released her first book, “Man Leads…: woman follows, Everyone wins.” in December of 2013 and promotes submission to men on her Instagram page and website.
And trust us, this ad is the tip of the iceberg when it comes to her philosophy on women being “marriage material”.
Naturally, the rhetoric around this, cut like a knife. “How to settle, apparently,” said EBONY editor, Jamilah Lemieux. “It’s Your Fault: How to Win Your King Back After He Cheats,” Vimto Mami re-titled the flyer. And model Liris Crosse spoke out to note that Cutno stole her image for another offensive ad for her classes.
By the time the conversation settled, it was more of a joke on the author’s part than actual anger. And while Cutno has yet to address the backlash on Twitter —or her Instagram posts or Amazon.com reviews— she seems to be secure in her beliefs.
At least the woman has gumption.
