Misty Copeland made history as the first black principal dancer for the American Ballet Theater back in June. The Ballerina talked about beating all the odds when it came to her dancing career in her upcoming documentary.

“Based on my body type, pedigree and background, I should not have been part of one of the world’s greatest ballet companies,” Copeland says.

Her documentary is set to Open in theaters and VOD October 14th.
