Fox’s Empire is enlisting some Oscar-winning help to their power-house army. Marisa Tomei. The “Hollywood Reporter” says Tomei will have a recurring role in the hip-hop drama’s second season, playing a venture capitalist who gets involved in drama surrounding the Lyon family. Tomei is known for choosing roles in diverse casts. The actress was one of the featured characters in The Cosby Show’s collegiate life spin-off show, A Diff’rent World, where she was one of “Huxtable Kid”, Denise’s, college room mates at the fictional HBCU, Hillman College. The second season of “Empire” already boasts guest appearances from a number of stars, including Chris Rock, Alicia Keys and Lenny Kravitz. Empire season two begins in September.
