Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Tin Man and the Cowardly Lion are coming to TV screens with NBC’s live musical production of “The Wiz.” Set to air on December 3rd, “The Wiz” will be NBC’s third live musical program after 2013’s “The Sound of Music Live” and last year’s “Peter Pan Live.” Cirque de Soleil has signed on as a production partner to set the stage for this retelling of “The Wizard of Oz.” NBC Chairman Robert Greenblatt says Cirque’s “incredible imagination” will allow them to bring the magical world of Oz to life.
