Indiana Superintendent of Public Instruction Glenda Ritz’s future may be decided by Indiana lawmakers as they return to work today after a busy weekend.
Hoosiers are now using social media to voice their support for the embattled Ritz. A “Twitter storm” was unleashed on these state lawmakers Sunday, a day ahead of their expected decision today on a bill to remove her as the chair of the board of education.
Supporters posted more than 13,000 tweets with the hashtag “IStandWithRitz,” making it the highest trending topic in the state. Ritz, a democrat, was fairly elected by the people of the state but has been at odds with republican Governor Mike Pence.
