Chris Rock is opening up about how he got Kanye West and Jay Z to co-produce his latest film “Top Five.” In an interview with MTV News, Rock joked that he sends Kanye all of his screenplays to review. On the serious side, he explained that Kanye and Jay are the two people to call if you’re making a project that involves hip-hop. He added that both rappers were “great” to work with and that viewers will understand why he involved them when they see the movie. Chris also reflected on teaming up with Kanye for his 2010 album “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.” Apparently, “Yeezy” had him recording material for several hours, but the rapper only ended up using several minutes of the session. He compared the experience to working with famed director Martin Scorsese.

“Top Five” arrives this week in limited theaters before its wide release next Friday. Apart from starring in the film, Rock also wrote and directed it. “Top Five” also stars Rosario Dawson, Gabrielle Union and Kevin Hart.
