Fox is readying “Luther” for primetime. The network has announced plans to adapt the critically acclaimed BBC series that starred Idris Elba in the title role. Elba is also on board to co-executive produce the one-hour drama which revolves around a detective who becomes consumed with his investigations. He is not, however, expected to reprise his award-winning role for the Fox version of the series. “Luther” ran for three seasons on the BBC. The adaptations will mark Fox’s second reinvention of a British show in recent memory. The network’s current drama “Gracepoint,” starring David Tennant and Anna Gunn, is an adaptation of the popular UK drama “Broadchurch.”
