“D.M.C.” is going into the comic book business. The Run-D.M.C. rapper has launched his own graphic novel publishing house called ‘Darryl Makes Comics.’ His first graphic novel , “DMC #1,” will arrive on October 29th, but fans attending the New York Comic Con in early October will be able toget it ahead of the release date. According to the ‘Darryl Makes comics’ website, the story takes place in NYC in 1985 and finds D.M.C. as an English teacher who moonlights as a crime fighting hero. It says this “alternate history” of D.M.C.’s life allows the rapper to speak about the “pressures and anxieties” that were present in 1980’s New York.
