Major Davis JrMajor Davis Junior, the 25-year-old man accused of killing Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Officer Perry Renn, made his first court appearance on Tuesday. Locked in handcuffs to a wheelchair and wearing the higher profile inmate uniform–a red jumpsuit versus the standard issue orange jumpsuit, Davis listened to the judge tell him and those assembled that he would face up to 85 years in prison if he was convicted of Renn’s killing. Davis’ family and Renn’s family were both in the courtroom. Davis is still recovering from his injuries sustained in the alley-way shootout with Renn and another officer while he’s in lockup at the Marion County Jail.
