Jazz/funk keyboard legend George Duke passed away today at the age of 67. With a career spanning five decades, playing with everyone from Miles Davis to Frank Zappa and George Clinton, he has left an indelible mark on the world of music.

A chameleon and master of any style he touched, check out George Duke at his funkiest and funnest here in a promo film for ‘Dukey Stick’ recorded in 1978. Keep an eye out for a young percussionist by the name of Sheila Escovedo, who would enter the popular consciousness in her own right a few years later as ‘Sheila E.’

RIP: George Duke. You always reached for it. Thank you, brother.
