Sanaa Lathan, pictured below walking the red carpet at the 2012 Lucille Lortel Awards, won a statuette for Outstanding Achievement Off-Broadway for her role in ‘By the Way, Meet Vera Stark.’
Sanaa took on the role just over a year ago and so has so far appeared in over 200 showings. The 39-year old actress has been dabbling in the Broadway and off-Broadway circuit for years now, first appearing in a remake of ‘A Raisin in the Sun’ and then an all black remake of ‘Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.’
Sanaa’s Broadway duties however will temporarily be interrupted when she starts filming on the upcoming season of ‘Boss’ Sanaa will join the second season, playing the role of a politically savvy Chief of Staff for Alderman Ross.”
