Simon Cowell has yet another music-themed reality competition in the works. “The Hollywood Reporter” says the “X Factor” judge is developing a series that will search for the world’s best DJ. Cowell’s SYCO Entertainment is partnering with Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith’s Overbrook Entertainment and Sony Pictures Television to launch the show. Cowell says “DJ’s are the new rock stars”, noting that it just “feels like the right time to make this show”. The television mogul also sent out a tweet on Wednesday explaining that he will not be serving as a judge. A debut date and network for Cowell’s yet-untitled project has not been announced.

Sources state that  another show will be added to the ever-growing list of ‘Wives’ shows, as VH-1 appears to be ready to begin a new series, ‘Ex-List’. Rumors state that the network is in talks with Nicole Murphy and Sheree Zampino, the ex-wives of Eddie Murphy and Will Smith to be the leads on the show.

The ‘Wives’ shows are amongst the most-watched and talked-about reality shows on television. Whether it’s ‘Basketball Wives’, ‘Real Housewives Of ____’, ‘Love And Hip-Hop’ or whatever format it is presented to us, it seems like we can’t get enough of these ladies and their fancy lifestyles.

Sheree has remarried since divorcing Will Smith, and she’s now a pastor’s wife and known as Sheree Fletcher.

Rumors flew this summer that power-couple Will and Jada may be splitting up. They were quickly put to rest, but once again signs are leading some to believe that the marriage may be in trouble.

‘In Touch Weekly’ reports that Jada Pinkett Smith has recently met with celebrity divorce lawyer Laura Wasser, who represented Britney Spears, Kim Kardsahian and others in their high-profile divorces. The magazine also reports that she has “final begun to take steps to dissolve their marriage”.  When it was first reported that they were separating in August of last year, the couple issued a statement denying the allegations.

The couple have two children, Jaden and Willow, and some reports have stated that the handling of the children’s careers is a major point of contention within the marriage.

Jada has allegedly met with high-powered attorney Laura Wasser, who has handled a number of high-profile celebrity divorces including those of Britney Spears and Ryan Reynolds, and “has finally begun to take steps to dissolve their marriage,” In Touch (via HollywoodLife.com) is reporting.

Rumors that the couple’s marriage was in trouble began in August. The couple then released a statement denying the divorce rumors. The two, who have been married since 1997, have two children together.

And to make matters worse, a second source says Jada turned down a major role in a Keanu Reeves -directed movie because she wanted to be with her kids — Jaden, 13, and Willow, 11 – during this “difficult time.”

No official statement has been released.

The cast of Fresh Prince recently had a reunion, but Janet had no interest in participating, That’s because she thinks Will is a first-class douche nozzle.

“There will never be a reunion … as I will never do anything with an asshole like Will Smith,” she told TMZ.

In the past, Hubert has admitted that she believes Will is the reason she was fired from the show. She claims that Smith never wanted with more talent to overshadow him on the show. Guest stars could possibly steal scenes was promptly let go. As for Hubert, she wasn’t squeezed out because she wouldn’t kiss Will’s ass.

However, Will told an Atlanta radio show that Janet was a bitch, and her foul attitude was what ultimately ended her run as Aunt Viv.

According to Will, Hubert once said, “I’ve been in the business for 10 years and this snotty-nosed punk comes along and gets a show.’ No matter what, to her I’m just the AntiChrist.”

Vulture reports that the impasse first came up back in 2009 when Fox began to seriously enter the development phase, but both parties agreed to wait until the screenplays were completed. The two scripts, which are expected to tell one two-part story, are due to be completed at the end of this year, bringing Smith’s involvement back into the equation.

They’re headed by Joshua Harris, a New York-based leverage buyout specialist who has family in Philly and went to school there at The University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business. At 46 years old, he was worth $1.46 billion as of September, according to Forbes. The ownership group does include a Philadelphia native besides Smith. Adam Aron, the former chairman and CEO of Vail Resort, is the chief executive officer and is from nearby Abington.

The owners are also unique in that their circle includes former NBA agent and Sacramento Kings executive Jason Levien, the first former agent to own a team, as well as Indonesian media magnate Erick Thohir, the first Asian investor in an NBA team.

But Smith is the one that’s “West Philadelphia born and raised,” and he’s the one that they figure will bring the casual Philly fan in. The new owners have announced that they are slashing ticket prices in half and are bringing fun and entertainment back to the Wells Fargo Center, yet all people are talking about is The Fresh Prince.

However, neither he nor his wife, Jada Pinkett-Smith – also named as an investor – are talking. Smith declined comment through his PR rep.

This differs greatly from the role that Jay-Z is playing as a minority owner of the New Jersey (but soon-to-be Brooklyn) Nets. Jay-Z does press conferences, woos players to the team and has promised to open their new arena in Brooklyn with a series of concerts. Jay-Z is often seen courtside at games with his wife, Beyonce, chatting it up with celebrities, players, fans and media. He has become synonymous with the Nets, and there are even people out there that don’t realize that he is a minority owner.

For the last 15 years or so, Smith has attended Sixers games a few times a year. Even though he has season tickets on the floor, the team usually puts him courtside while his friends occupy his seats. However, his membership in this ownership group comes as a surprise, and it is still unclear what role, if any, he will play as part owner. He certainly hasn’t tried to woo any players into South Philly, and that’s besides the fact that he lives in Hollywood, 3000 miles away.

Nelly, the rapper out of St. Louis, similarly became a minority owner of the Charlotte Bobcats back in 2004. While Charlotte and St. Louis aren’t exactly across the street from each other, Nelly was often spotted at their games. The majority shareholder back then was BET founder Bob Johnson. The team had the gimmick of being the first black-owned franchise, and the personable Nelly served as good public relations. Although he never quite took on the role of Jay-Z, it was no secret that he was a part of the team.

Nelly’s involvement with the team ended in 2010 when Michael Jordan became the majority owner. MJ’s not much of a hip-hop guy, and it’s easy to see him not wanting that kind of image attached to his team.

Keeping the trend going, in 2005 Usher joined the Cleveland Cavaliers ownership group, headed by Quicken Loans founder Dan Gilbert. Usher came in promising big things as far as entertainment, and for a whole year, his music was seemingly all they played in the arena pre-game, post-game and during timeouts.

A year later, Usher was nowhere to be found in the arena. He stopped coming to games, and his music was never played, but he was definitely still a part of the organization. He continued to promote it, and in 2010, while LeBron James was still on the team, Usher showed up on George Lopez’s TBS talk show, and the two of them placed a bet on who would do better: Usher’s Cavs or the Lakers, of which Lopez is a fan.
