Last month New York City radio station WWRL 1600AM announced its new line-up of hosts to comprise its Equality Pride Radio, programming aimed at the city’s LGBT community.

The station’s sole African-American host, Clay Cane, speaks from rather unique perspective — one that examines the inherent dualities of being Gay and African American.

South African Radio Host Rips Racism During Live F-Word Rant

Mark Esterhuysen, a South African talk radio host, is out of a job days after he unleashed a F-word-laden diatribe against racism and police brutality, live on the air Tuesday morning.

Legendary Media Pioneer Dr. Dorothy Brunson Passes Away

The first African American woman to own a radio station and operate a television station in the United States has died.

Dr. Dorothy Brunson, died Sunday morning at the age of 82 years old.

She was the first African American woman to own a radio station with WEBB in Baltimore, Md., in 1979.

Senator Catherine Pugh of Maryland released a statement on her death.

Sharpton Calls On FCC To Regulate Radio Racists Like Limbaugh

NEW YORK-After the Tuscon tragedy, activist Al Sharpton has called on the FCC to regulate racism on the radio, particularly Rush Limbaugh. The Hill Reports:

We’re not telling Rush don’t say what he wants to say. Say it at home,” Sharpton said in December. “Don’t get on publicly regulated radio and television that are selectively given licenses and do that to offend someone because of their race or their gender.
