A lawsuit between two film companies over the rights to the film “Precious” has been dismissed after both parties reached a settlement, according to the AP.

Lionsgate Films and The Weinstein Co. sued each other in February 2009 over rights to the film, which went on to win two Academy awards.

Lionsgate attorney Matthew Gershman says “the matter was amicably resolved to both parties mutual satisfaction,” but declined to give further details.

Notice of the dismissal was filed Thursday in Los Angeles.

“Precious” is based on the 1996 novel “Push: Based on a Novel by Sapphire.” Actress Mo’Nique and screenwriter Geoffrey Fletcher each won Oscar awards, and the film was nominated in four other categories. The film’s tale of a pregnant, obese teen — played by Oscar nominee Gabourey Sidibe — took $62.8 million at the boxoffice worldwide.

*It’s no secret that Mariah Carey loves her Jack Russell terriers, but paying for their vet bills? Not so much, according to the doctor responsible for their care.

Veterinarian Cindy Bressler sued Carey on Wednesday in a Manhattan state court claiming she owes nearly $30,000 in bills for her three dogs.

In her lawsuit, Bressler said she provided “extraordinary services” for the Jack Russell terriers — Cha-Cha, Dolomite and JJ — but the singer paid only about $8,200 of the roughly $37,800 in charges. The bills cover a little more than a month of care.

Bressler’s lawyer, Michael C. Posner, declined to elaborate on the treatment given the dogs. Her Web site notes that she makes house calls in New York City and the Hamptons and caters to “prominent New Yorkers and celebrity clients.”

Carey and her husband, “America’s Got Talent” host Nick Cannon, recently welcomed a new addition to their household: a puppy named Jackie Lambchops, born to Cha-Cha this month, according to Carey’s Twitter feed.

According to the NY Post, Bressler, who does house calls in Manhattan and the Hamptons, says she tended to the trio “at the special instance and request” of the “Precious” star between October 31 and December 2 of last year.

In all, the suit says, she “performed work, labor and services on the defendant’s canines . . . at the agreed price and reasonable value of $37,790.32, which sum [Carey] agreed to pay.”

But she didn’t — she only forked over $8,231.50, and is refusing to paw over any more, even though she never contested the rest of the bill, the suit says.

“I’m not at liberty to discuss Mariah’s personal life at this time.”

Speculation has run rampant about the impending baby since Mariah was spotted with Nick outside an Los Angeles medical clinic in May.

Carey seemed to have a pretty good sense of humor about the incident. “The funny thing about this is an ol’skool radio station in the other room started playing ‘aww freak out!’ @ that exact moment!”

She then tweeted her friend, Jasmine Dotiwala, saying, “@jasminedotiwala. Appalled U didn’t tweet to see if I’m ok after the fire incident in Egypt! (Said in my diva theatrical accent: )”
