Ok, here we go, comedian Tracy Morgan is said to be r 18 Million. He is also said to be giving his mom the stiff hand on helping her avoid losing her home. Now his family members aren’t happy and I totally understand that, but for him NOT to help HIS MOTHER, there has got to be more to the story… I’m just saying

Happy Birthday To Our History Maker: Jackie Robinson

Most people know Jackie Robinson as the man who famously broke baseball’s color barrier when he signed with the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1947, but what else do you know about Jackie Robinson?

Born on January 31, 1919, into a family of sharecroppers in Cairo, Georgia, Robinson’s mother moved the family to Pasadena, California in 1920. Robinson excelled at a variety of sports in high school including baseball, track, football, basketball and tennis. At UCLA, Jackie became the first athlete to win varsity letters in four sports: baseball, basketball, football and track.

Robinson also served two years in the army and had progressed to second lieutenant but his army career was cut short when he was court-martialed in relation to an incident where Robinson refused to sit in the back of a bus. In the end, Jackie left the Army with an honorable discharge.

In 1945, Robinson went on to play one season for the Kansas City Monarchs in the Negro Baseball League. It didn’t take long for Robinson’s career to take a historic turn, as Brooklyn Dodgers president Branch Rickey approached Robinson in 1947 about playing for the Dodgers in the major leagues.

The impact of Jackie Robinson breaking the color line transcended sports and would become an inspiration for the future Civil Rights Movement. In addition to his exceptional skills on the field, Robinson was an active participant in the Civil Rights Movement and attended the March on Washington in 1963.

At the end of Robinson’s rookie season with the Brooklyn Dodgers, he had become the Rookie of the Year with 12 homers, a league-leading 29 steals, and a .297 average.

Over ten seasons in the majors, Robinson played in six World Series and contributed to the Dodgers’ 1955 World Championship. He was selected for six consecutive All-Star Games from 1949 to 1954 and won the National League Most Valuable Player Award in 1949 — the first black player so honored. Robinson was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1962. In 1997, Major League Baseball retired his uniform number, 42, across all major league teams.

Jacki Robinson passed away in 1972. His wife Rachel continues to carry on Jackie’s legacy through the Jackie Robinson Foundation.

Tracy Morgan films a scene for “30 Rock” in Rockefeller Center in New York

Tracy Morgan is making light of his hospitalization at Utah’s Sundance Film Festival and confirmed he would be returning to work shooting “30 Rock” on Tuesday (Jan. 24).

As previously reported, the comic was taken to the Park City Medical Center after collapsing at an awards ceremony at the festival, according to reports.

Morgan was being honored by the Creative Coalition Spotlight Awards when he collapsed. In a video since emerging online, the comedian looks uncomfortable on the red-carpet. His rep Lewis Kay claims Morgan collapse because of Park City’s high altitude (Utah’s elevation is around 7,000 feet), and that “exhaustion” was the reason for the hospitalization.

Tweeting on Monday, Tracy joked with followers, “Superman ran into a little kryptonite. The high altitude in Utah shook up this kid from Brooklyn.” He went on to thank the hospital staff for their efforts.

A rep for the hospital had previously dismissed reports by TMZ.com that the actor appeared drunk while attending the awards ceremony, saying, “He is with his fiancée and grateful to the Park City Medical Center for their care. Any reports of Tracy consuming alcohol are 100% false.”

Morgan was escorted out of the building following his acceptance speech, where he fell unconscious and was rushed to hospital.

The 43-year-old has a history of medical issues – he suffers from diabetes and underwent a kidney transplant two years ago.

The Queen of Soul has decided to call off her wedding, stating that she and fiance’ Willie Wilkerson were moving to fast. While many folks are quick to speculate as to why the wedding was really called of, I have the utmost respect for “The Queen” and will wait to hear an official reason from her, if she decides to give one. Handle your business Ms. Franklin, we will wait. By the way please don’t forget my invitation when you finally decide to have e wedding. I’m just saying…..

Aretha Franklin won’t be getting fitted for a wedding gown after all: She’s called off her engagement. A statement released Monday by her representative said Franklin’s wedding to Willie Wilkerson wasn’t going to happen.
