Tyra Banks made her directorial debut on “America’s Next Top Model” last night (November 17). The supermodel, producer, photographer, actress, Emmy-winning talk show host, reality-show judge, novelist and businesswoman is adding another title to her roster. Banks stepped behind the camera to direct a two-minute film featuring the show’s final four contestants – Ann, Chelsey, Jane and Kayla.
“A lot of designers and people in the fashion industry are feeling like the future of fashion is not just still photos, but they’ve been doing mini movies where the models are acting things out,” Banks, 36, explains.
“I have to tell you that I have a whole new respect for directors through this process! It looks easy, but it ain’t.”
The film, which aired at the end of Wednesday’s episode, was shot at a castle in Verona, Italy, and incorporated high-fashion outfits, boyish looks, and crying scenes that channeled an “over-the-top Italian drama.”
After saying goodbye to her daytime talk show earlier this year, Banks is focusing on the launch of Bankable Studios, a N.Y.-based film production company. SOURCE
