“I had VHS’s of all Disney movies,” said Raven-Symone’ who plays the voice of Iridessa the first African-American Disney fairy – friend of Tinker Bell.

Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment released a Blu-ray Combo DVD Pack of their new film project “Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue.” The Disney project stars the voice talents of Mae Whitman as Tinker Bell; Raven-Symone’ as Iridessa the light Fairy; Lauren Mote as 9 year-old Lizzy – who believes in Fairies; Michael Sheen as Dr. Griffiths – Lizzy’s father, and Pamela Adlon – the fast flying Fairy.

The beautifully animated film follows Tinker Bell, way before she met Wendy and the Lost Boys of Peter Pan, during her vacation where she gets lost and while forming a relationship with little 9 year-old Lizzy – who believes deeply in Fairies –  her Fairy friends launch a major rescue. The theme is that of the power of faith and friendship.

“How she (Tinker Bell) looks at the world,” pointed out Raven-Symone’ about lessons we can learn from the film. “She can teach us to be opened minded. I wonder if instead of closing your mind to it…”

Being open minded is the message of this wonderful Rated G film that the entire family will enjoy – over and over again. Raven-Symone’ concluded that we all need to “take something from the DVD and put into real life.”

“Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue” was directed by Bradley Raymond (Lions King 1 ½) and produced by Helen Kalafic and DisneyToon Studios. Executively producer is John Lasseter, Chief Creative Officer Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios.
