The latest obesity report was released last week. And it showed adult obesity rates increased in 28 of the 50 states over the past year with the most overweight state being Mississippi where 33.8 percent of the adult population is obese.

The report is titled “F as in Fat: How Obesity Threatens America’s Future 2010.” It shows tremendous weight gain since 1991.

For example, in 1991, no state had an obesity rate above 20 percent but last year 38 states had adult obesity rates above 25 percent.

Racially, Blacks and Hispanics had higher obesity rates than whites in 40 states and the District of Columbia.

Meanwhile, if you want to lose weight, you might want to move to Colorado. For reasons which were not fully explained, residents of Colorado were the least overweight people in the nation with an obesity rate of just 19.1 percent. (Taylor Media Services)
