According to a new survey from Ford Motors, the presence of social media seems to be changing the way people function in their actual lives. The survey asks Americans about their incentives for having new experiences is shedding light on the issue. One-third of respondents admit to having done something just so that they could post about it on social media. Thirteen percent say they’ve been guilty of letting online perceptions dictate their actions on one occasion only, while 16 percent admit to doing so more than once.
They admitted lack of authenticity also affects the way people see their friends. Forty-five percent say they think their friends and followers come across as more adventurous than they actually are in person.
