CBS is giving the go-ahead to a TV remake of the “Rush Hour” comedy films. According to “The Hollywood Reporter,” the network has ordered a pilot for an hour-long action-comedy series based on the hit films starring Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker. The new show will follow a similar plot to the film series, which revolved around a straight-laced police officer from Hong Kong teaming up with a brash and independent Los Angeles policeman. “Cougar Town” writers Bill Lawrence and Blake McCormick will pen the script. The remake is getting some help from “Rush Hour” director Brett Ratner and producer Arthur Sarkissian, who will serve as the show’s executive producers.
