Bill Clinton isn’t just remembered fondly by many Americans as a president. The nation’s 42nd Commander-In-Chief is also the top pick among recent presidents — living or dead — to assist with a Fourth of July cookout. He’s favored by 28-percent of the respondents in a Harris Poll to lead the list. The late Ronald Reagan follows with 22-percent of the vote. Current President Barack Obama ranks third, with invites from 16-percent. Twelve-percent would want former President George W. Bush by their side at the grill, while fewer than ten-percent would put the barbecue tongs in the hands of former Presidents Jimmy Carter or George H.W. Bush.

However, among Republicans Reagan is the overwhelming choice, getting nods from 45-percent. George W. Bush ranks second with 28-percent of the vote. Clinton is the favorite among Democrats, at 43-percent, while 32-percent would welcome Obama.
