Due to the vigorous demands of the rehearsal and performance schedule, A representative for the production of the Broadway revival of ‘A Raisin In the Sun’announced that Diahann Carroll had to withdraw. It was going to be Carroll’s return back to Broadway in 30 years. LaTanya Richardson Jackson–wife of actor Samuel L. Jackson–Is taking over the 78-year old Carroll’s roll.
The new production of ‘A Raisin In The Sun’ will also star Denzel Washington, Sophie Okonedo and Anika Noni.
The show starts on March 8 at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre and opening night is April 3.
