Researchers have genetically engineered mice that can’t feel cold. The scientists isolated and blocked receptors connected to nerves that respond to cold. The researchers say the aim is to eventually create drugs that can dull pain but not numb a patient’s other senses. A report on the research is in the “Journal of Neuroscience.”
