A Far-Eastside Indianapolis man was arrested shortly after midnight Thursday after allegedly keeping at his apartment a 12-year-girl who had run away from her family.

Pete Kostarides, 59, who lives in an apartment in the 600 block of Washington Pointe, faces preliminary charges of criminal confinement, possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting law enforcement and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

A neighbor living in the complex helped alert police to the girl’s presence at the complex, the report indicates. The apartment complex is located near Washington Square Mall along Washington Street between Mitthoeffer and German Church roads.

Among evidence collected from Kostarides’ residence, the report states, were two used glass crack pipes, a video camera and a substance believed to be marijuana.

The girl has been returned to her mother, the report states.
