DreamWorks Classics has finally released Jackson 5ive: The Complete Animated Series, a complete collection of 23 episodes on DVD and Blu-ray. Fans and collectors of the Jackson Five (Jackie Jackson, Tito Jackson, Jermaine Jackson, Marlon Jackson and Michael Jackson) can now buy the entire series at any major retailer including Amazon.com
The Jackson 5ive cartoon series originally ran on ABC on Saturday mornings from September 1971 to October 1972. Nearly every episode had some type of life lesson, and each episode also featured great music and songs from the group. It was collaborately produced by Motown Productions, Halas and Batchelor (a British animation company), and Rankin/Bass Productions.
Although the cartoon series only lasted one year, the music career of the Jacksons lasted for more than ten years, and they are still known as one of the biggest pop-music acts of the 1970’s – selling more than 100 million records
