Now that Mariah Carey signed on as an ‘American Idol’ judge, rumors are flying with speculation of who the other may be. From P. Diddy, Kanye West, Pharrell Williams, to Nicki Minaj (who Mariah was not too happy about since she was told she’d be the only female judge. See that article here)
But we have a few people we’d like to see sitting in the infamous chair.
1.) Lionel Richie: With his success in writing, producing and singing, Lionel has done it all! He’s been successful in all genres from R&B to country.
2.) Kanye West: Let’s be honest… If Kanye was a judge on American Idol his entertaining and brutal commentary would make the ratings go through the roof. I mean, people are still talking about the Taylor Swift moment.
3 & 4.) Lauryn Hill & R. Kelly: Both for obvious reasons. They need a job. And what better way to take care of your tax situations then getting one with one of the world’s biggest music shows. And of course their talent :)
5.) Mary J. Blige: Even though she just signed on to be a coach on Duets, we wouldn’t be mad if ‘American Idol’ snagged her. She’s an icon!
6.) Beyonce: She’s pretty self-explanatory. Who wouldn’t want to see Beyonce as a judge on ‘American Idol?’
7.) Monica: She’s talented, has personality and genuine. She would be a nice, sweet touch in encouraging contestants.
8.) Rodney Jerkins: It’s very likely this man has produced one of your favorite songs. He’s worked with the likes of Toni Braxton, Michael Jackson and Brandy… Just to name a few. He knows the industry inside-out.
9.) Adele: Her versatile singing and soulful sound made her a favorite on the Billboard charts and 2012 Grammys. She’s likable and has shown us several times there’s more to her than meets the eye.
10.) Usher: He signed Justin Bieber… and we see how that turned out :)
