Drive-In Movie Theatre
-
Instead of seeing a movie at your regular movie theater, go to a drive-in movie theater. Drive-in movie theaters are less expensive than regular movie theaters and they usually show two or three movies. The screens at drive-in movie theaters are larger and snacks are offered at cheaper price than at other movie theaters.
Day at the Beach
-
Spend your weekend at the beach with your friends or family. There are many activities you can do on the beach, including swimming, playing volleyball and building sand castles. Bring a bag filled with sunscreen, sandwiches, towels, snacks and a cooler with beverages. If you get tired from swimming or playing volleyball, lie down on your towel and catch a few rays.
Library Time
-
A library offers entertainment for absolutely free. If you are on a tight budget, visit your local library to rent books and movies and surf the Internet. Libraries also offer film nights, book clubs and story time for little children.
Baseball Game
-
Go to a baseball game. If you don’t have the money to spend to attend a Major League Baseball game, go to a minor-league game or even a high school contest.
Exotic Restaurant
-
Choose an exotic cuisine that you have never tried before, such as Thai or Indian food. Research the country’s culture on the Internet or in a book before going to the restaurant. If you go to an exotic restaurant, you may discover new food that you enjoy and also learn about a new culture.
Volunteer
-
Volunteering your time is not only beneficial to your community, it is also fun. One place to volunteer is your local animal shelter. Many animal shelters are looking for people to help clean the cages and bathe the animals. You can also have fun volunteering at the animal shelter by throwing a ball to a dog outside and meeting other volunteers who share your interests.
