Maybe she is starting to take the Vibe Magazine Role Model thing serious.VH1 has released a clip from the “BBW” Season 4 Reunion where Evelyn Lozada apologizes for the bottle tossing.
“Every time I’m interviewed, I’m asked if there’s something you could take back from all of the seasons, it’s that moment. Not too long ago I was driving with my step-daughters in the car, and they watched that scene and they think it’s funny. But it’s not funny, and I need to be a better example.”
Do you think this is because of all the backlash the show and Evelyn has received or do you think it is genuine? Either way, I hope Evelyn does try to change. So many young women watch these reality television shows not realizing that this is exactly how they are seen when around the city. The stereotypes of black women have always been there but why reinforce them? We need to start showing people that our race and actions of other people does not represent who we are. Let’s instead show the world that we are civilized and educated individuals.
