If you watched the draft Thursday night, you saw a couple examples of joyously chaotic scenes when players were drafted.

It happened at Mohamed Sanu’s draft party, too. Unfortunately, though, Sanu was never drafted. It was just some knucklehead messing with him. (Prank)

The Rutgers wide receiver was on the edge of his seat late in the first round, with the Bengals on the clock at No. 27, when his phone rang. The voice on the other end of the phone identified himself as being from the Bengals, and said Cincinnati was about to pick him. Sanu and those in his draft party exploded in excitement, and agent Mike McCartney even tweeted that Sanu was a Bengal. Then Cincinnati pick Zeitler.

His agent  even tweeted the “news” that Sanu was going to be a Bengal, but later had to tweet this:

Very cruel prank call to a Sanu tonight – very sad that someone would do that. My apologies to the twitter world for my tweet.

Tough night. We all get knocked down in life and we gotta get back up. I believe in Mohamed Sanu as a player and person!

Don’t worry about Sanu, though. He’s taking it in stride. According to his agent, later in the night he said he’d be fine and that no one should worry about him. He even tweeted this on Friday morning:

Thank God for giving me another day and another opportunity to chase my dream … #thankfulandblessed

Sanu is expected to be drafted during Friday night’s second round, and if any team is on the fence about him, they can add this to their list of positives: strong ability to shake off negative events, stay positive and focus on the future. It’s an impressive attitude.
